A man is charged with sexual assault. This is a he said/she said case, where there is no evidence, but a lot of political pressure. She says he raped her in her home. He says they had just met that evening after a few drinks. They had consensual sex at her place, but got into an argument later when she started talking marriage and he left.

If he did actually raped her, he should get the lengthy jail sentence, but with this plea bargain, he is getting a great deal and future women will probably suffer.
